This is one of my favorite recipes from my granny’s kitchen. This is the easiest and quick recipe for breakfast or snack time. In Maharashtra, people have many flours ready in their kitchen and making Thalipeeth is very common where rice is grown on a large scale.

  • Preparation Time- 10 min

  • Cook Time- 10 min

  • Total Time- 20 min

  • Best time to make – Breakfast / Evening breakfast

Ingredients-


  • Rice Flour - 2 Bowl

  • Chopped Onion - 1/2 Bowl

  • Butter Milk - 1 Cup

  • Red chilly powder - 1 Teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder - 1 Teaspoon

  • Chopped Coriander Leaves - 1 - 2 Tablespoons

  • Jeera - 1 Teaspoon

  • Oil / Ghee - 2 Tablespoon

  • Salt As Per taste

Cooking Instructions:

  1. Take rice flour in a big bowl.

  2. Mix buttermilk, jeera, coriander leaves, red chili powder, turmeric powder and chopped onion in the flour.

  3. While preparing this dough, make sure you are adding only the required quantity of butter milk to suffice the wetness of the dough.

  4. Once dough is prepared. Make medium sized balls from the dough.

  5. Take a regular pan and apply ghee or oil on it.

  6. Now directly roll one ball on the pan.

  7. Make sure the dough ball spreads uniformly on the pan so that it cook well.

  8. Now place the pan on the gas and keep the flame on medium range.

  9. After 5-6 min, just check once if edges of Thalipeeth have started vaporizing.

  10. After another 2 min, try to change the side of Thalipeeth.

  11. After changing side, keep it for 3-4 min to cook well from the other side.

  12. Now take out Thalipeeth and serve with ghee/pickle or sauce.
